Today is a special day for Muslims all over the world. It marks the last day of fasting from sunrise to sunset for the month of Ramadan. Known as “Eid al-Fitr” Muslims all over the globe observe the holiday once a year as it marks the time that the Holy Qur’an was revealed.
To celebrate the holiday, Muslims congregate with friends and family and enjoy plenty of good food and gift-giving. As a kid celebrating Ramadan, I always looked forward to my Umi (mother) giving me and my siblings edible gifts such as chocolate rabbits and other sweet stuff.
These days there is so much to be grateful for in life and now Ramadan means so much more to me as an adult than it did when I was younger. For everyone celebrating the holiday today, enjoy! -xoxo 🤎📿😎
